Ambridge Area Chamber of Commerce
The AACC is selling lottery tickets that will go off every day in the month of November. Tickets are $5 and prizes range from $25-$500. Visit the office or contact a board member to purchase a ticket.

The AACC is also selling Ambridge Logo Chocolate Pops for $1. These are available in the office (limited quantity) or by advance ordering. Contact the office to place an order or stop by!

SWAG (Students With Alternative Goals) Initiative

Ambridge Area Chamber Business Leaders attended the first meeting to participate in a program called the SWAG initiative. The meeting was  held by gracious host Debi Leopardi and the Ambridge Regional Distribution and Manufacturing Center.  SWAG (Students With Alternative Goals) is a program initiated by Ambridge School District in which students are able to take courses which specifically deal with school-to-work transition. Mrs. Brewer from the Ambridge Area High School indicated students’ classes will be offered in the morning and will focus on communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills as well as the latest technology applications. Students will be able to leave school to either work in an established field or to participate in the mentoring program, which is being offered within the business community of Ambridge.  We wish the inaugural placement of several students great success and applaud the Chamber businesses for their willingness to participate in this initial placement of students.

Ambridge Area Chamber of Commerce
The Ambridge Area Chamber Commerce would like to thank Frank Strano of Do It Best, for donating his conference room and presentation on “Creating a Culture of Service in Today’s Labor Market,” Richard Andrus, president of Willard Lewis, Co. for his presentation on business insurance considerations, Susan Weinzierl, of PGC, for her presentation on our direct to door mailer, and to Sid Aykent, of Vocelli Pizza, for his delicious donation of pizza at our general membership meeting last night. We would also like to thank our members who attended the meeting, and hope you are as excited as we are about our goals moving forward!

Laughlin Memorial Library
Do you children enjoy reading? Hearing stories? Register for the Laughlin Memorial Library’s Fall Story Time! Fall Story Time will be held on Wednesdays at 11am from September 17-November 19. Call (724) 266-3857 to register, children ages 2-5 are welcome.

Holy Ghost Russian Orthodox Church

Does your teen love to read? Have them check out Teen Read Week October 12-18 at the Laughlin Memorial Library! Special events are being planned to promote and celebrate teen reading.
